Historical Context:  This glass bottle was produced by the ROMAN EMPIRE around the 2nd to 3rd Century AD. This covers the period often referred to as Rome's GOLDEN ERA when being a Roman Citizen was revered and admired.  This era started with Augustus, after the assassination of Julius Caesar and the wars with Marc Antony and Cleopatra.  Through the era of many well known emperors, Caligula, Nero, Trajan, Hadrian, and Marcus Aurelius.   The 3rd Century  started with Severan Dynasty, one of Rome's most bizarre dynasties.  The 4th Century brought the Constantinian Dyansty and the adoption of Christianity as the official state religion. 

Condition/Size: The diameter of the vase is about 46 mm (almost 2-inches) and about 49 mm tall (almost 2-inches).  The outside surface of the is nicely decorated with a iridescent coloring. Please see the picture.  This bottle is in excellent condition and is "INTACT."

  Roman Redware

Roman redware, also known as Terra Sigillata and Samianware, where objects were made from a fine red terracotta, using a clear oxidized firing glaze. Terra Sigillata translates from Latin as "STAMPED EARTH."  The group of shards (fragments) offered below were manufactured during the 1st century BC to 2nd century AD.  The shards are decorated with barbotine relief friezes showing various classical scenes.

Historical Context:  This BRACELET was produced by the ROMAN EMPIRE around the 3rd Century AD. The 3rd century was during the heart of the Roman Imperial period and started during the reign of Septimus Severus and ended with the rise of the Constantine dynasty which then bought about the start of CHRISTIANITY. The BRACELET appears to be fabricated for a young male or female with a maximum wrist diameter of about 50 mm. The outside surface of the bracelet is nicely decorated with varied patterns.
